Job Overview:
We are seeking a Job Captain to join our team of professionals. This full time, exempt position will prepare project designs and provide directions to designated personnel to ensure that the produced drawings and BIM models meet quality and performance standards as well as budget targets.
Responsibilities:
- Directs the activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documentation.
- Develops and implements solutions to challenges identified during the project’s design.
- Issues required Request for Information (RFI) documents and the corresponding follow-up to obtain answers, as needed.
- Resolves outstanding issues documenting answers and resolutions to questions and obstacles.
- Develops, in conjunction with designated personnel, the individual project manloaded schedules and overall department schedules. Ensures that VDC schedules are met along with Job Cost progress reports.
- Oversees the use of the computer network to ensure that all files and data are preserved in accordance with organizational standards.
- Coordinates documents with other job captains, designers, clients, and other trades.
- Prepares project designs using Revit software and equipment. All prepared drawings comply with all applicable codes and incorporates all components required for fabrication: dimensions, part numbers, finishes, and materials with all connection details identified.
- Interfaces with organizational subcontractors and vendors to complete part drawings.
- Performs the responsibilities of a detailer as needed.

Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, or its equivalent.
- At least three years of experience in architecture and/or engineering including an emphasis on strong design development and construction drawing experience, particularly in the areas of light gauge framing, sheathing, stucco/EIFS finishes, stone, cast products and wood or developing production drawings for a company that builds themed environments.
- One year of experience leading BIM Detailers.
- At least three years of experience in Revit and Navisworks.
- Knowledgeable in reading blueprints.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
