The Role
We are seeking a proactive, experienced, and savvy Job Captain to join our Land Development team. The Job Captain should come with solid problem solving and hands-on detailing skills and have experience working with all design disciplines and regulatory authorities to work on a project from Schematic Design through Construction Administration. You’ll work on site evaluation, the permitting process, advise on code requirements for novel system components, and work closely with our internal teams and consultants.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of the planning and permitting of Veev projects, while partnering with the rest of the team on project scheduling, resource planning, budgeting, and the development of the Veev building system
- Research the application of Code and Standards from first principles
- Review drawings and documents for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
- Conduct rigorous, actionable research of zoning regulations and HOA rules across diverse cities and regulatory agencies
- Prepare drawing sets and production deliverables throughout the design process
- Work closely with in-house engineers, product designers, and outside consultants to achieve permit and production ready coordination that meets pro forma targets
- Accurately interpret and clearly respond to review comments by local authorities and utilities, including courteous and well reasoned push back where appropriate
- Identify critical technical issues and challenges and deliver solutions, both individually and in collaboration with experts across the company
- Visit construction sites and assist with onsite construction administration
- Adapt and lend diverse expertise to a growing and dynamic technology-centric building company
Qualifications
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in Architecture or related field
- 5 or more years in the building industry
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Comprehensive understanding of project coordination and the related requirements for all design disciplines to support project design, goals, and requirements, code compliance, jurisdictional reviews, and obtaining permits
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to manage all aspects of consultant and in house team coordination, including drawing review and design integration
- Strong experience and expertise in working in Revit
- Strong leader of internal team through all phases of design and construction
- Track record of delivering successful projects from planning and permitting approvals through final occupancy
- Demonstrated experience with both interior and exterior detailing
- Highly knowledgeable of architectural building systems and experienced in organizing and coordinating the work of engineering and specialty consultants
- Knowledge of construction sequencing
Compensation
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $100,000 – $115,000 annually for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
