As a F&B
Captain
at The Bombay Canteen
or O Pedro, you will be an ambassador for the
exceptional service and cuisine that are the characteristics of our dining
experience across locations. You will
ensure
your warm, personal attention and knowledge of our outstanding
food and beverage offerings
makes our guests feel unique and valued.

We
have two roles open, one at The Bombay Canteen and the other at O Pedro. This
role will report to the Restaurant Manager of the respective location.

Our flagship restaurant, The Bombay Canteen showcases the wealth of India’s cuisine by recreating local, seasonal dishes and reinterpreting age-old Indian culinary traditions in a frequently changing menu. Our next venture, O Pedro, pays homage to the energy of Goa with a menu that brings back the fun of tropical living with simple, sophisticated food and drinks, with influences from the state’s Portuguese history. Bombay Sweet Shop  is a modern-day mithai shop that brings back the magic of mithai in a never seen before avatar, in a fun and contemporary way, while staying deeply rooted in traditions and techniques. Our online venture – enthucutlet (www.enthucutlet.com) is a bimonthly food mag that brings you unusual stories about food in India. Everyone’s recent favourite, Veronica’s, is a sandwich shop serving up coffee, wine, kombucha and beer, housed in Jude Bakery, in the heart of Bandra. Our newest restaurant, Papa’s launched in February 2024, boldly breaks the rules of Indian cuisine and fine dining to offer an elevated and adventurous interpretation on its comforting forms and flavours. 

The Bombay Canteen, O Pedro and Veronica’s are currently ranked among India’s top 10 restaurants by Condé Nast Traveler India.

 
Responsibilities:

  • Understand how our seasonal menus are prepared and served to consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service in an informative and helpful manner
  • Greet & welcome guests with warmth and professionalism
  • Assist guests in selecting food and beverages items, providing recommendations and answering questions
  • Ensure that guests orders are accurately taken and delivered in a timely manner
  • Handle guest complaints or special requests with tact and problem – solving skills
  • Carry out opening and closing procedures as per the checklists.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
  • Assist in training of Stewards for their restaurant duties
  • Adhere to Hunger Inc, policies, procedures and service standards

Requirements

    •⁠  ⁠Must be living in Mumbai or willing to relocate to Mumbai
•⁠  ⁠⁠Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or captain role in a popular restaurant
•⁠  ⁠⁠Previous point of sale system experience an asset
•⁠  ⁠⁠Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English
•⁠  ⁠⁠Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
•⁠  ⁠⁠Excellent guest service and problem-solving skills
•⁠  ⁠⁠Ability to focus attention on guest and team needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
