Reports to: Events and Catering Manager

Supervises: Oversight of all banquet staff during setups/events/break-down

Classification: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Lead banquet team through the event process while following a clear directive from the Events and Catering Manager. Responsible for execution of setup, banquet operations, and breakdown. Ensures banquet rooms are left clean and prepared for the next event.

Leadership

  • Promotes a positive and productive work environment.

Banquet Responsibilities

  • Performs related banquet set-up and break-down tasks.
  • Work closely with Events and Catering Manager to ensure successful banquet operation and execution.
  • Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon arrival.
  • Proficient knowledge of all details of each Banquet Event Orders.
  • Ability to execute all service types (i.e., Russian, French, American, buffet, etc.).
  • Supervises banquet staff during all aspects of events.
  • Perform duties of server/bartender when needed throughout an event.
  • Assists banquet staff in all closing functions.
  • Assures that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
  • Consistently follows all food safety-related requirements.

Other Functions

  • Advises supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Attends and contributes to staff meetings including pre-event (line-up) sessions.
  • Completes other appropriate assignments made by management.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Two years of banquet experience preferred.
  • One-year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Office knowledge/experience

Licenses and Special Requirements

  • Food safety certification.
  • Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Alcohol service certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Push, pull or lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.
  • Work in hot, humid, and noisy environment.
